Hardik seek commando protection for fortnight stay in Haridwar
‘Will depart on Dec 10’
Udaipur : Patidar quota stir leader Hardik Patel has written a letter to the Udaipur SP on Monday to inform about his proposed journey to Haridwar on December 10. The young leader has demanded 4 commandos to protect him during his fortnight stay in the holy city. In his letter, referring to an order by the Ahmedabad court permitting him a fortnight stay in Haridwar, Hardik said he would depart from Udaipur at 9 am and stop at Bhilwara for a temple darshan, belonging to the Gurjar community. He would take a night halt in Jaipur and resume his onward journey on December 11. “ Since hundreds of my supporters gather everywhere, four commandos be given for my protection” the letter read.
Hardik who will complete his six months extern period on January 17, had initially pleaded to the court to allow him to spend his remaining exile term in Haridwar, however, the court allowed him just a fortnight stay. He will stay at an ashram run by Swami Deeptanand Avdhoot Memorial Charitable Trust in Haridwar. “ He plans to take a Ganga Snan and will spend some time in meditation and peace. He will also meet leaders of the Kurmi (cattle raisers) community of Uttar Pradesh which corresponds to the Patel and Patidar class in Gujarat” Gehrilal Dangi, district president of Patel Nav Nirman Sena, Udaipur said. A road show is also reportedly in the offing, though aides chose not to comment.
