Estonian couple injured by tribal attack in Udaipur village

Udaipur : An Estonian couple who had reportedly gone for trekking adventure on a hillock in a remote area near Kherwada under Pahada police station of the district were injured after stoned by a group of people on Tuesday evening. The couple were rushed to a private hospital in Udaipur late night where the condition of the lady is said to be serious.

“The couple from Estonia (Europe) were coming from Gujarat and on their way to Mount Abu. They had undertaken a trekking adventure in Kanbai village near the Gujarat-Udaipur borders. Perhaps the lesser educated tribal people mistook them and pelted stones which caused the injuries” SP Rajendra Prasad Goyal said. The mishap with foreign tourists alerted the police department. A complaint has been registered and investigation is underway. Police is trying to find the details of the tourists and reasons for the attack.
