‘AGRI & FOOD PROCESSOR’S CONCLAVE’
Udaipur : A one day Conference on “Agri & Food Processor’s Conclave: Finance – Technology – Market” was organized on Tuesday by The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industries of India (ASSOCHAM) in collaboration with Ministry of Food & Processing Industries (MOFPI), Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology and Udaipur Chamber of Commerce and Industry for providing a platform to aspiring food entrepreneurs, existing SMEs in food, agriculture professionals & students, progressive farmers, Self Help Groups, etc. for sharing their views and learn about latest initiatives and opportunities available in the field of Agro Food Industries.
Arjunlal Meena, Udaipur MP in his address said food processing Industry is of enormous significance for the development of Rajasthan because of the vital linkages and synergies that it promotes between the two pillars of the economy, namely Industry and Agriculture. Vice-Chancellor, MPUAT said presently Rajasthan has about 10,000 operational units in the micro and small-scale sector of food processing. Southern Rajasthan produces 4 to 6 lakh tons of maize during kharif and rabi season.
There are good opportunities for establishing maize processing plant of 10 metric tons to 200 metric tons per day capacity. Vinit Kumar, Dy. General Manager, SBBJ discussed various financial schemes funded by SBBJ to help farmers and rural youths to develop into successful Agri entrepreneur. L.C Jain, Director, State Food Processing Mission, Rajasthan talked about the various scheme of the Government of Rajasthan for promoting Food processing industries in Rajasthan.
